What orbilogin.com is
orbilogin.com (also orbilogin.net and orbilogin.local) is the local admin name of Netgear Orbi mesh systems. Connected to the Orbi network, open http://orbilogin.com to reach the web interface of the Orbi router, the main unit, usually at 192.168.1.1. Regular Netgear routers use routerlogin.net instead.
Router and satellites
An Orbi system has one router, connected to the modem, and one or more satellites. All settings for the whole system are made on the router; the satellites follow it. That is why orbilogin.com always leads to the router, wherever in the house you are connected.
Logging in
Older Orbi systems use admin / password. Current systems ask you to create the admin password during setup, which is usually done in the Orbi app; the same password then works at orbilogin.com.
Changing the admin password
In the Orbi web interface, the admin password is set in the administration section of the advanced settings; the Orbi app has the same option in its settings. Keep it different from the Wi-Fi password, which guests may know.
When orbilogin.com does not open
- You are connected to another network, for example the provider’s router Wi-Fi rather than Orbi’s.
- The Orbi is in access point mode. It then gets its address from the provider router; look it up there.
- A VPN or private DNS is active. Switch it off, or find the gateway and use the IP address.
