How to log in to miwifi.com

Connect to the router. Join its Wi-Fi network or plug a computer into one of its LAN ports. Mobile data will not work.
Open the admin page. Type http://miwifi.com into the browser’s address bar (not the search box) and press Enter.
Accept the certificate warning if one appears. Routers use self-signed certificates, so “Not secure” on this page is normal inside your own network.
Enter the username and password. Look at the sticker on the bottom of the router first: many models print a unique password there.

What miwifi.com is

miwifi.com (also router.miwifi.com) is the admin name of Xiaomi routers. Connected to a Xiaomi router, open http://miwifi.com and you get its web interface, the same as at 192.168.31.1. Without a connection to the router, the name leads to Xiaomi’s website instead.

Global and Chinese versions

Xiaomi sells two firmware variants. Global versions show an English interface and a language switch; models made for China show a Chinese-only interface at the same address. If the page you see is in Chinese, you have a Chinese-market router: use the browser’s translation, or manage it from the Mi WiFi or Xiaomi Home app, which offer English.

No default password

Xiaomi routers do not have a generic admin password. You set it during the first setup, often together with the Wi-Fi password. If nobody knows it, a factory reset returns the router to the setup wizard at miwifi.com.

When miwifi.com shows the wrong page

Xiaomi’s website opens. Your device is not connected to the Xiaomi router, or it uses a VPN or private DNS. Connect to the router and switch those off.
Another router answers first. If the Xiaomi works behind a provider router or as a mesh node, connect to it directly. Your default gateway shows which device you are talking to.
